“This is the true joy in life, the being used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one…” George Bernard Shaw

I read an article in the NY Times this morning about finding your passion. Finding true purpose and meaning is perhaps one of the most important things we can do in life. Why, then, does it feel so difficult to achieve for so many of us?

The author shares what I have also found to be true. Very few of us “find our passion.” Wait – don’t give up yet! She goes on to explain something I have experienced for myself and seen in others…. that finding one's passion is a process that takes time and effort.

For some of us, our passions are clear from a very early age and develop into a clear purpose. But for many, finding fulfillment and living a life of true purpose and meaning can feel elusive. Happiness is something we all strive for on a daily basis, but true purpose is deeper and involves using our gifts and our passions to serve “something” larger.

Finding what you're passionate about – what excites you and wakes you up, eager to start a new day – is the first step toward a life that feels meaningful and purpose driven.

Start by asking yourself two questions:

  • What do I love to do?
  • What comes naturally and easily to me?

Never take for granted the things that come so easily to you that you don't give them a second thought.

Next, take a small step in a direction you’re interested in or intrigued about. No judgement. No right or wrong. Just curiosity and the willingness to be open to what the universe brings you. Often, it is the very act of taking that first, small step that begins to bring clarity to our true purpose and meaning.

That is exactly how I felt when I decided to launch the Ageless Woman series. The very act of beginning the series – and connecting not only with the amazing experts, but with you and all the other remarkable women who joined us on this journey – has propelled me forward and opened up possibilities that I could never have imagined a few years ago.

Let me know what inspiration comes to you! Send me an email or share it here on the Ageless Woman Facebook group.
