“Create a vision for the life you really want and then work relentlessly towards making it a reality.”
― Roy T. Bennett, The Light in the Heart
Why is it, even when we feel deeply committed to making a change or realizing a vision, we very often aren’t successful? We have a deep desire to manifest something in our lives such as love, or wealth, or health, or relationships, but – despite our intentions or best efforts – we aren’t successful at making it happen. What keeps us from moving forward and actualizing our dreams?
The reasons we get stuck or are unsuccessful are very often not for the reasons we think. It’s not because of lack of effort or determination or intelligence or skills. The primary barrier often exists unrecognized and deep inside on the level of identity.
The most powerful step that one can take as a creator is not always to move into action. Nor is it to wait or even to surrender. It is to identify and release the inner barriers to receiving what it is that you most desire to bring forth.
We can be unknowingly blocked from manifesting our dreams because there is a part of us that is stuck and isolated and has not been evolving. Getting in touch with and releasing old patterns can free us to move forward in exponential ways. Ask yourself how you can take responsibility for yourself as a creator. How and where do you get stuck? What choices, decisions, behaviors do you make that stand in your way?
If there is an area of your life that is especially challenging, I invite you to reflect on what that is. From a place of deep self-love and compassion, be honest with yourself. Ask yourself two questions:
- Who or what have you been blaming up until now as the reason you’ve been unsuccessful?
- How can you take responsibility for reshaping and creating your experiences in this area of your life?
